MEMBERSHIP RULES / REQUIREMENTS
Membership is for a 12-month period. To qualify for membership, all applicants must:
1) Join the Hudson Valley Radio Control Club as a “New Member,” including payment of membership dues and completing all required forms.
2) Pass an entrance interview by the Board of Directors.
3) Have a current AMA membership card.
4) Participate in all club sponsored public activities.
5) Abide by ALL safety rules as published by the club.
6) Understand and agree to the By-Laws of the club.
7) Acknowledge that membership renewal is by invitation only.
8) Understand that you may not fly solo, without an instructor until signed off by the Safety Officer.

ALONE: We have reserved this privilege for our experienced club members. Any
member requesting the privilege to “FLY ALONE,”must be prepared to assume
responsibility for himself and that of the landfill. The member must lock the
facility and make sure that no one else is on the property when they leave. The
exception to that would be Town workers or contractors. *Effective immediately:
ANY MEMBER THAT WOULD LIKE TO “FLY
ALONE” MUST BE APPROVED BY THE BOARD AND BE A COMPETENT FLYER WHO HAS NO
COMPLAINTS AGAINST THEM REGARDING SAFETY VIOLATIONS
It is mandatory that all Club members and their guests abide by the following rules:
1) Flying hours are as follows: during the week from 9:00 am until sundown and 10:00 am until sundown on weekends and Holidays.
2) Guests are allowed by invitation only and must be accompanied by a Club member. The guest must possess a current AMA card. A Club member may bring only one guest pilot per day. Guests may fly twice then are required to join the club in order to use the facility.
3) Drive slowly and with caution when entering the flying site. Speed limit is 10 miles per hour. Please do not drive across the runway.
4) No smoking or open flames anywhere within the landfill area.
5) No penetration of any kind may be made into the surface of the landfill.
6) Trash Policy: “Carry in - Carry out.” No trash or litter is to be left on the flying site. ALWAYS clean up after yourself.
7) Effective Immediately:
a. All engines of 85cc and larger will have canisters installed on the motor for the purpose of noise reduction.
b. No engine will use a prop that will crack the air (break the sound barrier). All pilots will use throttle management to minimize noise.
c. If any plane seems to be excessively loud it will be required to meet AMA/IMAC sound testing requirements of 96db or below at 25 feet, in line with the prop, down wind and at a height of 2 feet before the plane can be allowed again at
the field.
8) When refueling engines, an overflow container must be used.
9) Engine break-in or extended engine testing should be performed in an area remote from the pit area and flight line.
10) Club members must have their AMA and Hudson Valley Radio Control Club membership cards in their
possession.
11) No pets anywhere on site.
12) Do not remove methane pipes
13) All non AMA members must stay behind safety fence.
14)Do not use the facility electrical outlet. (If the circuit breaker trips we don't have access to reset it.)
15)Do not drive on the grass. Stay on the road.
16)No FPV or GPS assisted flight is allowed.
